Bodegas Barbadillo <\/b>has been honoured to receive the <\/span>King of Spain<\/b> to its winery. He accepted the presidency of the Bicentennial Honours Committee in 2021, and his <\/span>visit<\/b> was the culmination of the Sanl\u00facar winery\u2019s bicentennial celebrations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>president of the winery, Manuel Barbadillo Eyzaguirre, <\/b>led a tour that began shortly after midday in the Casa de La Cilla. The King met with winery Board members and other important figures, visited the new wine racks \u2013 a room for samples that can house 25,000 bottles \u2013 and the \u201cSacrist\u00eda\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The King then visited the working bodega El Toro, where he greeted the Barbadillo Board of Directors before moving onto the San Guillermo garden where he was photographed with members of the Barbadillo family. The visit took place in front of the Bodegas Barbadillo 200-year <\/span>commemorative plaque<\/b> where a team of Barbadillo workers were waiting for him. In line with the winery tradition, <\/span>Felipe<\/b> VI signed a cask <\/b>to honour the 200-year anniversary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sanl\u00facar de Barrameda, Capital of Gastronomy<\/b><\/p>\n

In the setting of the magnificent cathedral bodega \u2018La Arboledilla\u2019, and in recognition of <\/span>Sanl\u00facar being Spain\u2019s Capital of Gastronomy for 2022<\/b>, Felipe VI enjoyed a menu that paired the best local products with Bodega Barbadillo\u2019s unique wines.<\/span><\/p>\n

Felipe VI was accompanied by the <\/span>President of the Regional Government of Andalusia<\/b> and member of the Bicentennial Honours Committee, <\/span>Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla<\/b>; the <\/span>Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas<\/b>; the <\/span>Mayor of Sanl\u00facar de Barrameda, V\u00edctor Mora<\/b>, the <\/span>President of the Provincial Government of C\u00e1diz, Irene Garc\u00eda<\/b>, and <\/span>Marta Bosquet, President of the Andalusian Parliament<\/b>; <\/span>Jaime Alfonsin, Head of the Royal Household of His Majesty the King<\/b>; members of the Board of Directors of the winery, and entrepreneurs from Sanl\u00facar de Barrameda.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His visit ended with the <\/span>signing of the book of honour<\/b>. A final touch to end the last day of Bodegas Babadillo\u2019s extensive bicentennial celebrations that have taken place over the last year to celebrate its 200 years of history.<\/span><\/p>\n
