Bodegas Barbadillo has prepared an appetizing program of activities that can only be enjoyed in summer, ranging from night visits, unique winetasting, gastronomic pairings with Armando Guerra or a special dinner with ‘A date with a taste of the South’ with the collaboration of the Tribeca restaurant.
In addition, the ENO-CULTURAL experience continues in collaboration with the Castillo de Santiago, but in a nocturnal version.
Barbadillo Nightime: Creating Oenotourism Experiences
One of the most successful experiences every summer are the night visits that can be enjoyed every Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the summer at 8 pm.
In them, visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the wineries and end with a tasting of its most iconic wines.
On the other hand, within the agreement signed this year between Barbadillo and the Castillo de Santiago, the collaboration will continue with its special voucher, a combined ENO-CULTURAL experience, where we will be able to visit the winery and the fortress at night.
The two city landmarks have joined forces to promote the history, culture and wine tourism in Sanlúcar: the Castillo de Santiago, with more than five centuries of history and from where illustrious transoceanic navigators departed; and Bodegas Barbadillo, with more than two centuries of history committed to the production and aging of manzanilla. The event will take place this Thursday, July 20.
Unique tastings and gastronomic pairings that make a difference
One of the biggest experiences prepared for this summer, is the tasting at the foot of the wine boot “cata a pie de bota” led by the director of high-end of Bodega Barbadillo, Armando Guerra, which will be held on August 4 at 8 pm.
It will begin at the Manzanilla Museum with an explanatory reception for attendees and from there the first stop will be made at La Arboledilla to taste the wines ÁS de Mirabrás, Manzanilla ÁS Sumatorio and two kinds of Manzanilla Solear. Then the visit will continue at Bodega Sevilla to taste two different butts of Manzanilla Solear en Rama Saca Estacional. Next, Amontillado Príncipe will be tasted at the Mil Pesetas winery, to finish in the VORS solera with an old Amontillado.
But it is not the only one, since on August 24 at 21:30 hours, Guerra will conduct a gastronomic tour in three different areas of the winery where three types of manzanilla will be tasted and paired with three gastronomic proposals designed by Espacio Décimo Arte. A pairing at the foot of the boot that has limited places.
Tribeca Restaurant & Barbadillo: “A date with a taste of the South”.
The San Guillermo winery, one of the best-kept secrets within the Barbadillo winery network, is the location chosen to celebrate this “southern-flavored event” for the second consecutive year. The renowned Sevillian restaurant Tribeca will travel exclusively to the Sanlúcar winery to offer a cocktail dinner that will be remembered for its originality, distinction and unique setting.
A tour of the south, through a guided tour of the bicentennial wineries that ends with a special menu inspired by the cuisine of the south, designed by the head chef of the Sevillian restaurant, Pedro Giménez.
The date of this great event will be September 8, 2023.
Special Tastings with Calm Wines and Wine Tourism Cards
Those who prefer to enjoy a visit to the Sanlúcar winery at any time of the year, including a special tasting of the winery’s still wines, can take a stroll through a bicentennial winery with exclusive tastings of wines and oenological treasures. Included are tastings of Barbadillo Blanco de Albariza, Blanco de Blancos, Blanco Mirabrás, Blanco Sábalo, Tinto Quadis and Espumoso Beta Sur or Toto.
